The Mission of Mary & Martha's

When Bev Tuller opened Mary & Martha’s in October of 2006, she followed a family tradition of Retail Entrepreneurship!  Her mother, Ginny Tuller, opened The Dandy Lion Children’s Shop in 1978 when Bev was just 12 years old.  After working there for 10 years, majoring in Retail Management at USC, and several other retail and other types of careers, Bev decided it was finally time to open her own store: but what to sell?

“I had been hosting Pampered Chef parties and just loved kitchen gadgets,” Bev says. “So I wondered what it would be like to do that full-time. I had no idea it would consume my life?  Yet, I’m having the time of my life!” Bev enjoys seeing old and new friends come in with cooking issues and turning them into cooking fun.

But where did she get that name? “Well, I prayed about it,” Bev says. “And one day, it was just the most obvious thing! I wanted to sell preparation gadgets, but I also wanted to focus on entertaining. And who teaches us about preparations and enjoying your guests better than the Biblical sisters, Mary and Martha, who entertained Jesus regularly.  So, now, when you come in the store we have the “Martha Side” where all the prep-work gadgets, cookware, and cutlery are … and … the “Mary Side” where the pretty items that are more for sitting and enjoying your guest(s) are. 

Mary & Martha’s features top quality cutlery, cookware and gadgets all aimed at making food preparations easy and fun. Mary & Martha’s is dedicated to helping the “Martha” in each of us get preparations done quickly and easily so we can enjoy quality time with family, friends and even our faith.
